Latest Logistics Update on Barge Operations in Lagos State

By now, we must all be familiar with the New Year cliché phrase ‘New Year, New Me’. As cliché as this may sound, it should be applied to business activities. This should be applicable in our respective businesses too. To put that in context; New Year, New Business Strategies. Putting this in application to the Logistics operations, this is the year to apply more efficient and effective ways to transport your goods.

Recall that in our previous publications in 2020 (please read a few here), we expatiated on the numerous benefits of transporting your cargo(es) through the use of barges and how they operate.

The Lagos State government has shown concerns over the activities of several barge operators which also led to the State Government issuing a stern warning to the unpleasantly increasing illegally operated container terminals. This was right after it sealed off some of the ones that were discovered in some parts of the state. The Lagos State Government is set to ease the activities for licensed operators to avoid interruption from unlicensed operators.

The Lagos State Government is set to partner with the Federal Government to put a stop to the creation of illegal terminals for barge operators and make adequate plans for licensees operating in traffic-prone areas. This move will help to block the operations and the existence of container terminals and docks, regulating the operation of barge in the state.

Barge operators that have been operating illegally have been sternly warned to quit their activities. TGL works with the most efficient licensed barge operators in the industry to bring ease to the activities of your businesses and also reduce the stress of transportation.
